Kim Choe is a broadcast and digital journalist from Auckland, New Zealand. She is a graduate of CUNY’s Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism, and most recently was Managing Editor of Newshub.co.nz – the website of major New Zealand commercial news broadcaster Newshub.
Kim is passionate about digital news and has a particular interest in developing innovative models for storytelling that are sustainable in small markets. She studied law and arts at the University of Auckland and while there began her broadcasting career as a radio news reader and current affairs host, before becoming a television journalist.
She has reported from Jakarta, South Korea and the United States, covering Barack Obama’s first inauguration in Washington DC and the 2016 Presidential Election from New York.
Kim is a versatile reporter with the ability to cover breaking news, politics, international affairs, theater and film with speed, accuracy and insight.
